PRESS RELEASE - DELTATEC & Hailo Partnership To Offer AI Integration Services For Greater Smart Camera Capabilities On The Edge
Tuesday, January 23, 2023
This partnership will help camera system manufacturers or integrators in computer vision, smart cameras and medical imaging markets to move AI workloads to the edge for video analytics.
Ans, Belgium, January 23, 2024 - DELTATEC, a leading electronic design house specialized in the design of proximity electronics for camera sensors, today announced a technology collaboration with Hailo Technologies, a leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) chipmaker, to integrate Hailo’s advanced processors within DELTATEC solutions.
This partnership will help camera system manufacturers or integrators in computer vision, smart cameras and medical imaging markets to move AI workloads to the edge for video analytics.
Within this partnership, DELTATEC will provide complete hardware design, development and manufacturing of camera, while offering AI integration services based on HAILO coprocessors which consist in porting, optimization and software integration of neutral network algorithms.
“DELTATEC is a company which not only ensures hardware, software and FPGA development but also has a strong experience in AI networks,” said Gérald Olivier, head of Product Marketing at DELTATEC. “Hailo offers a comprehensive software suite, already deployed by hundreds of customers in a variety of industries and applications including industrial, automotive, security, medical, retail, and more reducing the level of risk in our projects.”
The Hailo-8 AI accelerator offers an unprecedented performance of 26 Tera Operations per Second (TOPS) at best-in-class power efficiency of typically 2.5W, which makes it ideal for integration into edge devices and camera systems.
Hailo-8 are easily integrated into a wide range of hardware platforms and do not require external memory. The industrial grade processor supports a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. This makes the processor attractive for industrial applications where the convenience of general-purpose operating systems is an asset.
Hailo recently launched its Hailo-15 AI vision processors which enable AI image enhancement and video analytics, offering the best AI performance at a standard camera power consumption and cost envelope.
The H15 shall offer a higher level of compactness, hence the importance of being able to create specific designs, to ensure maximum integration.
“DELTATEC has a vast experience in designing imaging and video systems for a wide range of applications and markets” said Andreas Lambauer, General Manager of Hailo Europe. “The cooperation between Hailo and DELTATEC will enable more companies and developers to design AI into their edge products, making edge AI more widely available”.
DELTATEC will demonstrate the collaboration with Hailo Technologies at the Photonics West event in San Francisco, USA, on January 30 – Feb 1. At booth 4410, visitors will see how it delivers a solution that combines AI integration services and hardware electronics design.
